How do I bypass the EA App forced installation and access Origin to play games.I cannot open Origin. It is forcing to install the EA app that does not work!The EA app is broken.Purchased content shows as I don't own it. Missing expansion packs and add-ons that cost a LOT of $$$$ over the year!.Existing game files won't play. You can only re-start a new game file.Reinstalling does not work - attempts to install content says game needs to be updated.Repair did not update. Game files were all up to date and working this morning!

Absolute trash, this EA app is. Functions are broken as stated above PLUS, what hasn't been mentioned is that for some god forsaken reason, it shows itself to shadowplay as a game, so each time I launch it, and subsequently launch one of my games on there (duh) ingame recording is stuck to EA app.So unless I disable shadowplay background recording and re-enable it each time I launch Battlefield 2042 for example, I'm gonna have a static 20 min recording of the GOD AWFUL FORCED ON ME EA APP instead of the lest 20 minutes of gameplay.No, I'm not going to accept having to manually do this each time I launch a game.And no, I'm not going to set shadowplay to record the whole desktop to workaround this unacceptable fault of EA.When shadowplay is set to record the desktop, it has a lot more instances of corrupted recordings and it's also a waste of storage space, when I save the last 5 mins of gameplay after launching a game... and I get 15mins of desktop/web browsing in the beginning of the file + 5mins of gameplay. (yeah, I have the replay buffer set to 20mins)Additionally, if I happen to play CS:GO for example (which I play at a lower res) before playing BF and I have desktop recording on, the chances of the mp4 file being corrupted in some way, skyrocket. This is why one should leave desktop recording for the replay buffer of shadowplay OFF, which doesn't present any problems... except if you're using the EA APP, and of course. no matter how hard I try, I cannot revert back to Origin now.I typed this all out, because I suspect EA reps would have the nerve to suggest a workaround like this INSTEAD OF FIXING THEIR ABHORRABLE LAUNCHER.ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE THAT THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE IS FORCED ON USERS!!!!!!I tried every trick, leaving the EA app installed while reinstalling origin has worked for the past month after EA first forced their REPRESENTATION AS A COMPANY on me, but today the FORCED UPDATE TO EA APP banner has popped up again.Already updated the trash EA APP to its latest version, in hopes that if I do that, Origin will let me use itself... but alas, nope.Fully updated EA APP, but Origin still asks to "update the ea app" upon reinstalling it and logging in, which of course uninstalls Origin.I'm considering abandoning the Battlefield series, into which I sunk 2000+ hours and play it daily.ABSOLUTE TRASH COMPANY.Screenshooting my reply in advance, in case it gets censored.I wouldn't be surprised.

I've now had this problem on other PCs, all Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, all fully Patched, all working absolutely fine, and all cannot Upgrade from Origin to the mandatory EA App.Now I cannot access any paid for content, and cannot go back to Origin.There is no option to override the forced EA Upgrade, it now dominates the Origin screen, and there is no workaround.I have tried all of the various suggestions to get around this, such as Running the EA App download as Administrator, making sure all Windows Modules are updated, and turning off Anti-Virus.Nothing works.The EA App Upgrade always downloads stuff, then halts at the Installation Screen, then, after a little while, it announces something has gone wrong. and would I like to submit a Report to the Droids, which I do every time.I must stress this exact same issue has happened on different well specified PCs and Laptops, and it is very obviously an EA App problem.This is, effectively, a catastrophic EA App Upgrade failure, because it totally prevents any access to existing paid-for Content.There is no obvious way around this, and nobody should be expected to spend hours trying to find a way around what should be a simple update.

This is why I so dislike any Software that requires an online login just to run paid-for content.Eventually, the Company will neglect to keep the Servers going, and the Software will become unusable.Although in this EA App case, the Company concerned has simply made an epic mess of a forced upgrade, and has contrived to disable all access to paid-for Content in the process.Is there nobody left running the Company who has any authority to supervise what the children in the IT Department get up to? Or to ensure they actually test their creations before unleashing them on unsuspecting Customers?Come on EA, crack on and resolve the problem you have created.At the very least, disable the forced EA App upgrade in the Origin login, so people can carry on with what works in the interim.Tick, tock, the clock is ticking, and people are getting very annoyed at the total lack of action, or even of an acknowledgement that there is a problem.

How do you disable the EA pop-up in Origin? It's blocking me from interacting with the app.

why are we not allowed to run Origin anymore? It worked just fine until today for me, and Discord Overlay no longer works BF4 for me, it just crashes if it is enabled. Why can't we just have Origin? EA Play seems more or less just a reskin - Battlelog even still refers to Origin not being open if EA Play isn't, it is called as Origin by multiple services, it does not make sense to force people to switch. There's no new features. It's infuriating that Discord Overlay will no longer work, and I highly doubt a fix for that will ever come - I'm sure it will be a bunch of finger pointing at each other as to why it doesn't work, or the fact that BF4 is old and they don't want to work on it anymore. Please just give us access to Origin, it's outragous that we are being forced to "upgrade".

@TrueMatrix did you restart origin? (close it via notifications and stop background services)
because my origin after launching a game still doesn't have the popup. (which means I'm probably not going to do further tests)

if you've indeed relaunched origin after closing all origin processes than it could mean that the latest version of origin may use a diffent pathway for the popup

ALSO another thing to note is that in my case I did also restore the origin data folders to BEFORE the popup appeared (and blocked the api address before attempting to launch). So maybe there's something there that flags the popup to appear even if it can't connect to the web address to check for it.
it had been a shot in the dark to perhaps get ea app to reinstall correctly?, and it still seems the popup is a browser page of sorts...
If anyone's origin can sign in offline (after quitting it fully and closing background service) without showing an error page, does the popup still show then?
If it still does with your whole pc offline and without origin services running. Then there's also something in the files for the popup to show, and no amount of blocking will remove the popup from showing, but may stop it if you can revert to a state where it hadn't shown.

Can't even launch my games because of this pop-up. Why do they keep doing this? No one wants to use your stupid app. No one. Not a single soul. It's awful. It's bad. It's atrocious.
Take a hint and stop trying to force it down our throats. You tried and you failed. I know that is kind of this company's schtick but could you try to leave us alone while you do it? Do it over there in a corner or something.

I just remembered that when I manually restored my origin version, the origin web helper service wont stay running
maybe that's what actual is causing the popup and disabling/stopping it and relaunching origin will clear the popup?

The saddest thing is that they will never make this program normal. They never cared about us. Look how many years origin has been around! It was full of problems and they never solved them. It's very sad about EA.

Same here, OMG this is getting annoying day 4 today and no fix.
This has something to do with the display settings in Windows 11 version 22 H2 .....
Bring back Origin, stop the forced upgrade to EA app please.
