I can't switch my status online on new ea app

Hi team,

It seems I have an issue with the new ea app. After a few months, I wanted to start playing sims 4 again. I heard that origin was discontinued so I uninstalled it and installed the new ea desktop app.

I can log into my account ok but the problem is that I can't seem to be able to switch my status to 'online'. Every single time, I get the error 'presence update - failed ea an error occurred when trying to change your status. try again'. I've tried clearing the cache, uninstalling and reinstalling the app and even running the program as an administrator but to no avail. Since I can't connect online, this won't let me connect online for the sims 4 also which is frustrating. Because of this, I can't access my gallery nor receive any new sims deliveries.

Please help me fix this ea!!!!

    I have also been having this exact same issue ever since I've been using the EA App.

    I live in South Africa, so don't know if this has to do with anything. 

    Has been really annoying to not be able to access the sims 4 gallery!

    @x_uchie_x081293 I just figured something out! I just remembered that i have a vpn with my norton security, so i tried turning it off, and now my EA app status is online.

    Thank you for responding to my message. I think my issue comes from my wifi because as soon as I used my mobile data, it worked.

    I don't know what I have to do for it to work with my wifi. I hope I will figure it out soon but until then I will carry on using my data.

    @WildLeja Thank you! I saw this recommendation and tried it myself. It's working just fine now.

    I have the same problem yesterday.

    You can try to use your phone share the network to your PC and check issue is still there first.

    If not, you don't need to modify any setting because this may caused by your router

    You can try to change the router or plug your network cable to modem directly. 

    This is my solution.
