iDEAL Payment Option Unavailable on EA app and Web in NL/BE (Since Oct. 2024)

For about a week (since me writing this), I have been unable to use the iDEAL payment method when attempting to make purchases through the EA app. After selecting iDEAL as my payment option, I receive the following error message:


"We're unable to process your order at this time due to an issue with your provided payment method. Please use a different payment method to complete your order, or try again later."


Additionally, when trying to make a purchase on the EA website, the iDEAL option no longer appears at all. Previously, iDEAL would show up on the website, but it would give me the same error message when trying to complete the transaction. Now, the option is missing entirely.

My EA account region and EA app region are both set to "Netherlands" and I have successfully used iDEAL as a payment method in the past.

Could this issue please be investigated?

    Due to some ongoing technical issues between our systems and iDEAL, this payment option isn’t available right now. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this causes and, unfortunately, don’t have an estimate on if or when it might return.

    In the meantime, we suggest trying other payment options like PayPal or credit card for purchases through the EA app or website.

    Thanks for your understanding, and apologies again for the inconvenience.
