[Information Request] EA Desktop Crashes

Hello everyone, 


We are currently investigating an issue that is causing an increase in crashes in the EA Desktop client. We are working gathering up some additional information to help us with this. If you have been experiencing crashes please try running the EA Error Reporter and share your Error ID with us here. 

You can run the Error Reporter using the steps below: 

  1. Go to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop\ in Windows Explorer.
  2. Double-click ErrorReporter.exe to run the EA Error Reporter.
  3. Choose the Type of problem you’re having.
  4. Tell us about the issue you’re having in the Description of problem box.
  5. Check the box next to Share diagnostic information when report is submitted.
  6. Click Submit report and wait for it to complete. 
  7. Write down your Report ID for safekeeping.

Once you have run the Error Reporter please try running the EA Desktop App Recovery tool. If you search for "App Recovery" in your Windows search box it should pop up.

Please reply to this thread with your Report ID and let us know if the EA Desktop app is still crashing after running the App Recovery tool.

    Yes, still crash after App Recovery.

    So i did something i read on another thread.

    1. Go to C:/ ProgramData

    2. Search EADesktop (without space)

    3. You will find a EADesktop-lotofcharacters-.msi

    4. Launch this msi file

    5. With this you can uninstall EADesktop

    6. Reboot your pc

    7. Instal EA Desktop again

    8. Cross finger

    Maybe my problem was related to an update in W10 I made today: KB5000842 and Service Stack [10.0.19041.903].

    I 'fixed' it by removing EA Desktop with a third software uninstall application and deleted all related Registers in regdit, because it's won't possible to install a new EA Desktop until it was cleaned all registers. After a fresh install EA Desktop worked again.

    Mine won't stop crashing. Below are the error messages I keep receiving.

    Same errors for me. The app worked fine until yesterday and today I can't open it. Tried to do the App recovery, uninstall and install again and nothing worked.
