[INVESTIGATION] - Sims 4 Epic Bundle issues with EA app

Hello

With three packs becoming available for free on Epic Games, I decided to make an account there and link it with my EA app. I haven't been able to play my saved games ever since. Whenever I try to launch Sims 4 on the EA app, it immediately opens my Epic Games account where I have no DLC installed and my saved files can't be accessed. I'm scared to try anything else, I don't want my DLC, saved files and mods to disappear. Can anyone help?

Summarize your bug I redownloaded the game today. Whenever i try to launch it, either from EA app or Steam it doesn't work and keeps opening the EA app. It opens ones after the download but after i close it, i can't open it again.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? The ID is 26670762-1a74-450c-a249-1fda82d0abbf. I already tried closing the app and redownloading it, running it as an administrator but nothing seems to work.
What happens when the bug occurs? EA app opens and nothing else happens.
What do you expect to see? I'd love to see the game opening without any issues.

It happened when launching Sims 4 through Epic Games.

So basically, there is a pack bundle on epic (with jungle adventure ect.). My epic account and Ea account are linked and other games work no problem but, Ea app doesn't show the packs from the bundle as owned but when I open the sims, inside the game menu in the expansions tab it shows that i have them except tha when I play the content is not showing.

In summary

- epic show that i own the pack

- ea app doesn't

- the game itself shows that I own them but its like they're not downloaded

- since the ea app doesn't recognise that i have them i cannot download them manually (app wants me to buy it)

- i cannot download it from epic beacuse it just opens the game

on the local EA file directory and when click the game thru either epic or EA, the game is run thru epic, even though its not installed there. Fine fair enough.....but

So, after signing up for the epic freebies, Epic thows a message, " You already own this DLC"..... and Im like......no i dont and I click the button to onbtains the freebies!!

I open EA APP and start sims 4  and in game it states there is EA app download.  EA app acknowledged the additional dlc, but there is nothing in the EA  downloading.  In game and searching the build/buy, there is no freebies! *so sad*

So after the rant, the question is...

EA App knows there is freebie dlc, but not download

Does the FREE dlc have to installed thru epic?

If so that means I got to download everything again?

Please say it aint so, and EA will install the epic dlc to the EA file directory

Did you recently link your account through Epic as well, or try to claim The Sims bundle from the Epic launcher? 

I have the exact same problem as you

I had the same issues - after closing both apps (epic and ea launcher) and then starting the ea app alone I had to re-login in the ea launcher. Then I went to sims 4 -> manage -> expansions and there were the new 3 packs ready for download.  

Not so nice but to be expected - Sims 4 will launch the epic-launcher even if you start it from the ea app. Its a bit annoying as epic takes ages to launch.
