Last update is stuck at 3%

I haven't opened the Sims in a few months and decided to update my game. I went to update, and it gets stuck at three percent, with no error message. Just won't update. I restarted my device, closed the app, and even logged out of my account. Nothing seems to work. At one point, it got to fifty percent, and it wouldn't go further.  I'm not sure what else to do.

I'm having this exact problem, though it only started for me today (06/12/25). Has there been no resolution to this issue in a year?

Hi ive been trying to update my sims for the last 4 hours it refuses to go past 3% i have done every thing i can to fix it even uninstalling the game itself and it wont let me download it back and wont processed past 2% and ea is useless have you managed to fix your game??

Please also try to clear the cache, the steps to do that are at the top of this guide; sometimes that helps stabilize preparations!

i ve uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and i pressed update and its stuck on preparing 

i cant update the game it keeps freezing and i ve tried repairing the game like 5 times

Hi i tried updating sims and EA is crashing and i cant update it.

Tried downloading the new sims 4 update and it got stuck at 3%. I restarted the app and cleared the cache, then tried repairing instead. It consistently went up fast in % until it reached 51% where it stopped suddenly. It’s since gone up to 56% but that’s over about an hour. if it continues like this it’ll take like 10 hours to finish, I’m not sure this is right..
