Mass Effect 1 Will not install

I just bought me a new Lap top and download the new EA APP and started installing my games, but it will not load Mass Effect 1.  What I get is "There's a problem with your download.  Something went wrong during your download.  Give us a few minutes, then try again." This is what I have been getting for the last week.

    Ok, here is what I did, I downloaded Origin and loaded my games and Mass Effect 1 was able to load.  The bad news is none of my games on EA are not opening up they all have a clock in the lower right corner.  Origin works, EA will not work.

    Ok, here is what I did, I downloaded Origin and loaded my games and Mass Effect 1 was able to load.  The bad news is none of my games on EA are not opening up they all have a clock in the lower right corner.  Origin works, EA will not work.

    @Cleaver2012 OK this might not work now because when I opened Origin It force me to Upgrade to EA App. But EA is working now.

    I have the same issue.

    I installed the EAapp, thrusting is the good and right way... but, no. Is the frustaiting one.

    Here, How I solved it.

    First, install the last origin app versión.

    Make sure you can access your account.

    then if you already downloaded the game, lunch it with origin app.

    If you not download already the game, can download it with origin app.

    Now. after lunched the game, play some time.

    close the game. restart you PC, and now you can lunch it with EAapp.

    Also, try, the cache recovery thing.. maybe is your solution.

    Happy game.
