I had this same issue but after I uninstalled the games associated with EA Desktop (By going into Add or remove programs in the start menu of windows) it started working again. This might not be why it fixed but it's worth a shot.

    thanks, this worked for me too. i had the problem where a new account worked but my main one did not

    I've now tried to remove all games I previously installed with EA Desktop then cleanly removed the app as well. Then used only the Xbox app to install and launch EA Desktop to install a game but still crashing on launch with the two 'Oof, something exploded' messages.

    It was Battlefield 4 which was the problem, uninstall that if you have this problem.

      Does it work if you install Battlefield 4 with Origin? Because I have the same problem and it appeared while downloading Battlefield 4 with the EA Desktop App.

        @MuteStone I just download Battlefield 4 through EA Desktop and had it installed through Origin before and I didn't encounter this issue.

        Is there anything specific that you did?
