I've just had this for the update too.
Disabling Bitdefender for a malware detection (and quarantine) surely can't be EA's solution.
Do we know if there is going to be a fix from EA for this?

I've just installed the latest update for FC24 and my anti-virus has detected a Trojan.
Please can you confirm whether this is a false positive?
Has anyone else come across this before?

Had exactly the same message last night after updating FC24 after it not being used in a month or so.
I am also using Bitdefender.
Looks like this is happening on other ea games.

just got the same response after latest update (July 7 - 2024) Bitdefender identified BF2042.exe_DiP_Staged if infected with Gen:Variant.Barys.382515 and was moved to quarantine. You guys at EA are aware of this issue and according to numerous previous posts, this has been going on for a while, so why are you not fixing this issue? Your latest response suggests turning off critical virus detection and protection software when installing the update is not a viable solution. You need to fix the problem properly and permanently. Be proactive and fix what needs to be fixed, I don't get this when using any other software updates and clearly that points the finger at whatever methods you are currently using.

Same here. Bitdefender identified BF2042.exe_DiP_Staged infected with Gen:Variant.Barys.382515 and automatically placed it in quarantine.

Last night whilst updating FC24 Bitdefender flagged the FC24.exe with the same malware error message as being reported here.

@EA_Barry Hello again, the same malware warning and quarantine has come up again with the new F1 24 update. It's really not acceptable for EA to have this repeatedly come up. Is this the official EA solution and if so, will EA indemnify any loss incurred by customers who bypass their anti virus. Look forward to your speedy reply.
