Posted about this on Reddit and found some other people have the same problem so I thought I'd post it here for a permanent solution. It starts with Sims 4 not being able to launch because it's missing a file. I go to repair it and get a popup that says "There's a problem with your security permissions. We couldn't access your system resources. Make sure your security permissions are configured correctly, and try again". I temporarily fixed the issue by backing up my saves and then deleting and redownloading the EA app. Eventually the problem came back and my previous strategy did not work.. I got it working again by disabling EABackgroundService under services.msc, restarting my computer, and then re-enabled it under manual. I sense that this is only a temporary fix, however. Hopefully the gurus can help!
