Re: The pack I purchased will not show up

@_yuliana60_    Wow!  That sounds terribly frustrating.  Perhaps you could try running a game repair.  When I had packs missing from the game, this resolved the issue for me.  Exit the game if it's running.  Click on the game in the app, then click Manage to find the repair option.  You may get a notice that the game is ready to play but make sure the repair finishes running for all packs before opening the game.

  • The thing is that my sims 4 game was previously run my steam so would I have to uninstall the steam version? And if so because of my game being ran by steam would I lose the packs I had before?

@_yuliana60_   Did you also buy Seasons through Steam?  Are you missing anything but Seasons from your game?  I haven't used Steam so I'm not sure how that is working.

EDIT:  For all who might be following this thread, I was informed that Steam has been compatible with the EA app for some time.

I did find this thread about issues with content purchased through Steam.

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports-Technical-Issues/EA-games-bought-on-Steam-Won-t-start-with-EA-app/td-p/11914633/page/3

Back in October, @EA_Atic noted "At the moment EA games owned on Steam or Epic are not yet integrated with the EA app. You won't see that content available to you in the EA app just yet."

I don't know if that issue was resolved.

If the base game and your previously purchased content is showing in the app and showing up in your game, then you should not have to reinstall anything.  Also, running a repair should not remove any of those packs that you own.

Just in case, I suggest taking some screen shots of all your owned packs as well as your purchase history in the event that you need to verify any of it.

Edit:  One other thing I just read is that you should double check that your Seam and EA accounts are linked.  Excerpt from the Steam store caveat:  YOU MUST LINK YOUR EA AND STEAM ACCOUNTS TO PLAY; EA WILL SHARE YOUR ACCOUNT ID AND INDIVIDUAL GAME AND PLAY RECORDS WITH STEAM TO VALIDATE YOUR PURCHASE AND/OR REFUND REQUEST.
Sorry for the all caps!  I'm not yelling.  That's just how it's written on the site.

  • I haven't bought seasons through steam because I thought it would be fine if i got it through EA but sadly it didn't work.

@_yuliana60_   Okay.  Thanks for that.  It's possible that the pack was stored in a different location.  Please go to your file explorer and click on This PC (usually your C: drive) and then search for EP05 to find where the pack was downloaded.

Also, double check in the EA app for the install location.  Click the game in the app, click Manage and click View Properties.

It would be helpful if you could share screen shots of your folders and the EA app install location.

@_yuliana60_   Okay.  Please click on This PC and use the search bar on the right side (see the highlighted areas in the image below).  Type in EP05 in the search bar, hit enter and share a screen shot of the results.  EDIT:  Please allow the search to finish in order to show all the possible locations.

@_yuliana60_   Thank you!  That is what I was looking for.  Now, do you mind expanding the folder section so we can see the exact path?  Just click and drag the highlighted line to the right and then share a screen grab showing the EP and full path.

  • It did work but because my game is ran by steam the pack did not show up.

@_yuliana60_   Ugh!  Have you tried launching the game from Steam instead of the EA app?  If that doesn't work either, at this point, I wonder if it might be better to uninstall the game entirely and reinstall it through the EA app.  You may first want to make a backup by copying and pasting all your content to another location on your PC, either on your desktop or create a new folder. This is just so you don't lose any saves / content.

  • Currently I am downloading sims 4 with EA and I have put all of my cc and other things from the sims 4 file in one place, how would I be able to add them all back when the game is fully downloading.

@_yuliana60_   Apologies for the delay.  My eyes were closing by themselves and I had to crash.  I also think I got a bit confused because I was so tired.

I want to make sure that you don't have any packs that you only bought from Steam.  If you do have packs that you want to play that you bought from Steam, then you'll need to continue launching the game from Steam,  Steam-owned packs only work with a Steam install.  EA-owned packs work with either one, or at least they're supposed to.  Did you try launching the game from Steam after buying Seasons?

As for your game content, it will be easy to just move it all back in once the game is fully installed.  It actually might be better to do what's considered a "factory reset".  See the below link for instructions.
