[RESOLVED] - Cannot download The Sims 4

Summarize your bug I am trying to download The Sims 4 but it keeps saying “There’s a problem with your download. Something went wrong during your download. Give us a few minutes, then try again”. This has been happening for about an hour. I have tried reinstalling the EA app and other suggestions from the online forums but nothing is working. Is anyone able to help? Thank you.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? By trying to download The Sims 4
What happens when the bug occurs? An error message appears
What do you expect to see? The game to download

UPDATE: Currently seems to download, but once downloaded the game goes back to saying “update” in an endless loop.

UPDATE: the game now downloads and plays for me - if you’re still seeing the update button, clearing your cache may resolve the issue.

    Hey all,

    This issue should be resolved at this time. If you're still running into issues with The Sims 4 currently please fully restart the EA app and try your download again.

    Thank you for your patience while this was addressed.

    UpdateIf you're still seeing the "Update Required" message after the fix for this went live about 30 minutes ago please try clearing the EA app cache and let me know if that doesn't resolve the issue.

    Update: Please see additional steps here if you're still seeing the Update Required messaging.

    This eventually fixed itself.  Not sure what happened, but when I logged in later and opened the game, it worked.  Weird.

    @EA_Cade Hey, some players are still having an issue. I'm not sure if its still being worked on or not, but just wanted to let you know.

    I spoke to EA support earlier because I still can’t download my game (currently says preparing and has done for 20 minutes or more) 🙄.. according to them the issue is still ongoing and they’re still working on it 😒

    I’ll include a screenshot of the email they sent me where it says that it’s still an issue.

    P.S.:
    im not willing to Re-Install Windows Because of UN-HANDLED EA ERRORS and Face Tramendeous DATA LOSS Because of That !

    We're checking if some of you are still experiencing the issue, or if it has been resolved for you?

    *Note that it is about the issue that was originally reported in this thread, no other The Sims 4 x EA app-related issues.
