8 days ago, I was forced-prompted to switch from Origin to EA app. The initial switch transferred games and files over just fine, but I had an issue with the sims 3 store content not staying installed, which corrupted my save files. It's fine...whatever. 674 hours down the drain... no problem. Im over it (I should have backed them up...I guess.) MOVING ON! So in order to fix that problem, I did what EA help suggested. Uninstall EVERYTHING, (sims 3 game, all expansions, content, and files) including their EA app, and start with fresh new installs, all updated and pretty (even though they already were...). All reinstalled fine except for 3 specific expansion packs that will not download. They get stuck on "Preparing" and never move forward. (pic included) University Life, Island Paradise, and Into the Future. I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything more than a dozen times at this point (EA has continued to give me this same advise repeatedly even though it isn't working!) But still these same 3 expansions will not download. If I leave it on "Preparing" long enough, I will get an error message that states something to the effect of" "something went wrong, please wait and try again" (pic included). Im frustrated to the max with the extremely limited and horribly slow EA email help system. They haven't helped at all, and I'm sure they don't care. I tried to go back to Origin earlier this morning, but I just receive the same forced prompt to switch over, and cant get around it. At this point I just want to know how I can take my games OFF the EA platform and download them directly. I have spent thousands of dollars in this game over the past 10 years and hundreds upon hundreds of hours of my time. I just want to play my old-* game in peace! Can anyone offer any suggestions at all on how I might fix these issues with the downloads, or how I can get around EA all together. Thank you.
- 2 years ago@Malissa0821 Same problem here in freaking SEPTEMBER and with all expansion and stuff packs. Further, all DLC from TS3 store will download but not install. Been trying to fix this for two months now and am continuously told to just uninstall everything and reinstall it.

I've been trying for almost a year. They have no fix, and based on how their customer service acts, they have no intention of fixing it. The agent I spoke to today refused to give me any update since my last message from them a month ago. I even told her it's fine if they're still working on it, I just want to know that that's what's happening. She ignored me and then she marked my case "fixed." When I reached back out to have this false "fixed" status changed, EA refused to change it and refused to let me report that to anyone.
EA is entirely negligent. I'll never buy another game from them.

Hey all
A fix for this issue went live on Friday that resolved the install issue for some players. We have more fixes for other causes of this issue in testing right now, and hope to release them as soon as we're able.
I do apologize for the lengthy wait on a resolution, this issue proved to be very complex in the end but we believe we've got it figured out now.
