Unfortunately my app does not show as needing to be updated and it still won't download the four packs.
The install by Origin did not work for me so I am stuck without them.
Makes me very reluctant to purchase anything else from EA because what is the point if I can't actually download things I have bought and paid for.
I am absolutely disgusted with their lack of response to what is clearly a problem for many users.
While searching the forums for any other solution to this I came across another thread in the Sims 3 forum about it which had a different Origin solution, which does not involve messing with the codes. And this one actually worked.
I reinstalled that old version of Origin again and this time checked the box for update Origin and games automatically. Then I just let it run for a few hours while the Origin window said to go use the app to continue. Then I shut it down and went to the EA app and the four packs that had not downloaded were all installed, having downloaded in the background via Origin.
Worth a try for those who found that the Origin fix where you mess with the code is not working.

- 2 years ago@LouisaB75 Where did you find old Origin at to download?

This is the extract from the instructions I was following. The rest of the instructions were no use so I won't repeat them and confuse things.

Uninstall your Origin that you have.

Considering how many threads there are about the issue, how far back they go, and the utter lack of response from EA with any update about fixing the issue or even the courtesy of acknowledging that there is one, I think it is safe to say that they have no care for their customers or their profits. After all, this sort of service doesn't exactly fill me with confidence that anything new I purchase from them (like the Sims 4 horses that I have been eagerly anticipating for years) will be useable. On that basis when I was asked which game I would like for my birthday next month I decided on a non-EA one instead.
Regarding the download, presumably the link that I originally got it from on the forums has also been deleted, but if you search for the exact file name of the download you should find it easily enough. It is available on a number of sites from what I have seen. I found it from a post that offers a solution to help stop the force migration from Origin to the EA app but that solution itself no longer works to help with the packs not downloading issue.

its really starting to look like EA is not caring about anyone on sims 3 and is trying to force us all into sims 4. none of the work arounds here have worked for me so far now may be that I am on windows 11.

I am on Windows 11 and got them downloaded eventually.
I used the method of load up old Origin, make sure the settings are to auto update Origin and games, and just leave it running for a few hours and the packs downloaded in the background and were available on the EA app when I next loaded that up.
Agree about EA not caring about Sims 3 players. I play both 3 and 4 and in many respects I do prefer 3 but there is just no support for it at all when there are problems. I suspect that there isn't that much help if there are issues with Sims 4 either though. More likely lack of customer care generally from EA.

@EA_Shepard I see you took down one of the only solutions found to this problem. Was a fix ever found by EA? I last chimed in here half a year ago, and it seems like everyone is still having the same issue. Does EA have any intention of fixing it?
