sims 4 updates requires 19 GB disk space

Having the same issue but i have less than 1 gb free on desktop, I hve 2 other games on my laptop that i dont want to uninstal, just to free up space for a sims4 update. My issue is - at least with the Origin App, you didnt have to download any updates in order to play, you could play without it. But with the EA app, you HAVE to sign in and HAVE to download any updates otherwise you Dont get to even open the game itself. Its stupid. Updates should be a choice on When you want to do them, much like other apps and updates for different apps and devices. Also, i had similar issues when i didnt have internet connection for 3 wks - you HAD to have internet connection to sign in just to play an OFFLINE pc game !! WTF? I had to use my moble hotspot just to sign just to play offline. Lastly, Is it really possible to move the ea game files themselves to an external hard drive to get around this issue?
