Good day all,
As the title indicates I am having an issue with running the game through steam. Played the game for 5 solid days with no major issues. The game stopped working roughly 3 hours ago when I took a break. Came back and this issue started up. I hit the "start button" in my steam library, the EA App window comes up and goes through its "thing", then the EA window disappears, next a steam window appears for a moment indicating that the game is launching, then that window disappears and then everything repeats from the EA App window popping up.
I have already reinstalled the game and the EA App
I Verified the files through steam.
I made sure all drivers and apps were up-to-date.
I made sure that all steam folders and files and DA:I files were in the allowed lists of my Anti-virus protection apps and firewall.
I performed a test run by turning off all of my Anti-virus protection apps and then attempted to run the game, but the same issue occurred.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @xbigbryan, could you please give us a dxdiag as well? It could help 🙂 Sorry you're having this issue, hopefully we can help you figure out what's going on.

Hi @prj365, could we get a dxdiag as well, please? 🙂 Might help us figure out what's going on. Which AV apps are you using, by the way? Have you tried doing a clean boot then running the game?
Good day @Leora85 ,
As requested, please see the attached DxDiag.txt file.
My anti-virus programs are AVG Free, Adaware free version, Windows defender, and Malwarebytes Premium Version.
Yes, I have performed a selective startup and a diagnostic startup with MSConfig. Unfortunately, the issue still persisted.
FYI, Up until the issue occurred I was playing the game with no mods at all. The game worked the moment the installation was completed, so at the time while it was still working I had not added it to any of my anti-virus apps or the firewall.
FYI2, I was able to find a workaround by uninstalling the EA App and installing the Origin Thin Setup, and selecting the option to not have the Origin app update automatically. Though I am not sure how long this workaround will work and I would appreciate any assistance in getting the game running with the EA App as it was intended when it was first installed and ran.
Regards,
Hello, I'm having trouble with DA:I.
I have it like 2 years but I never really played it, because I wanted to play DA origins and DA 2 before it.
Now have finished both Games since Friday and tried to play DA:I but it doesn't launch. I only restart the EA launcher.
(I bought it on Steam.)
I reinstalled the game.
I cleared the cache.
I reinstalled the launcher.
I disabled Avira.
I run a Clean boot.
I check the Disable Full Screen Optimizations box.
I Updated my Graphic Driver.
I reinstalled the DirectX and VC Redist.
I Run it as an Administrator.
I tried everything I found.
I have exactly the same problem.
I buy this game 1 year ago, it worked fine, i try to begin playing this game 1 month ago and never work, ea app or origin just run from steam and then close, i try everything on the net, nothing, i dont have any antivirus or any problem with my pc, all games run perfect (i am playing right now the Witcher 3).

How is it that an error that causes your game to be unplayable has even been addressed or had a solution found in a month, this happened then the game went on sale on steam and now many people are experiencing this issue. It's not steam, it's not anyone's computer. You guys made a launcher that doesn't even launch the game and haven't addressed it for a month. Can we have an update on how I can launch my £35 product or does EA only care when the refunds come through. You are effectively selling a faulty product and this isn't okay.
Same issue for me except every attempt to launch Says linking problems. Or at least it did until I got the ea spp which of course made it worse dnd just refuses to launch it with no error message.
My account was linked since at least Jan 5th 2022, now I'm dealing with this cr*p? I shouldn't have to launch game only to get the app for ea, I could care less, I want what paid for
I was able to play for a couple of weeks but now I'm running into this problem. The sad part is that it seems that it is not in their plans to fix it... it is very annoying to depend on the EA launcher to be able to play.
