There was no change in how it presented, exactly the same as the others. EA app flashed a couple of times and then ... nothing. Doing the unnecessary steps of making a whole new email so I could make a whole new account worked. The game launched just fine. I'm glad you guys are actively talking with us about it, at the very least. It makes me less hesitant to look forward to DA: Dreadwolf.
@DarthAlpharius everything is whitelisted but Origin isn't the issue, the new EA app is. It was far from perfect but at least the game launched with Origin.
@Nyakuya Iy's not just Inquisition. This forum has multiple threads concerning other games that also mysteriously stopped launching properly when they forced everyone to change to the new app. Most notably Inquisition and some of the Star Wars games.
You are right. After you said that I tried launching Jedi Fallen Order and It won't launch either.

I will update what I said.

- Mass Effect Legendary Edition
- Mass Effect Andromeda

@Nyakuya Kaspersky is known to have a lot of issues with games period. Not just EA games. Have you disabled it to test it? Again, if kaspersky blocks something, it tells you. It always tells you. Since that didn't happen with dragon age inquisition nor jedi fallen order, then it didn't block those games.
Also, disabling software that may conflict with a game is the first thing I do when something doesn't work. So yes, I disabled it along with msi afterburner, nzxt overlay and some other stuff running in the background. But that of course didn't change anything.- @My 2 cents:
Game does not start in similar way, as already mentioned few times before: EA app closes and instead starting the game, nothing happens, just EA app pops out again after few seconds. And thats it.
I tried to run it from Explorer, by double clicking on .exe file and got [The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)] error. Well i have all my .NET Framework and DX up to date so that message is just BS.
And in the end i tried one more thing and (yes i admit) downloaded the game from torrent, and what do u know. Pirate game works normally.
So logical conclusion: Its EA app that is obstructing the game. Well since you throwed the first stone I will throw the second.
I also downloaded it by torrent to check if the problem was the game or the EA App. To no one's surprise, it was EA App, because the torrent downloaded game worked perfectly.- @EA_Shepard not just Kaspersky but Avast and AVG stop DA Inquisition to launch.
I had this same issue for a while. Creating a new user account worked but I wasn't going to play that way so I came across another solution using frosty mod manager and frosty fix. I encountered the same nonsense while trying to play Mass Effect Andromeda with mods and found that I was able to launch Dragon age through the same process with or without mods. Download Frosty mod manager and frostyfix, the steps I took to "fix" the issue:
EA is installed on C: obviously, game is on another drive in steam library folder
launch EA desktop, I have to repair it randomly from the installer as it will just break.
Launch frosty fix and go to settings check "launch game with frosty" (set directories for frosty installation and "custom game", which would be the dragonageinquisition.exe
In frostyfix select platform "EA desktop"
launch game with mods enabled (you don't need any mods, I don't have any installed)
frostymodmanger will open along with EA popping up, select dragon age inquisition on frosty mod manager
ea pops up a copule times, steam pops up - logs in, more ea pop ups probably then the game runs
This has been the only way that has worked for me other than doing a separate account. Reformatting PC and running only the game on fresh install had the same outcome.
- nothing was run as admin
I had a couple of edited replies posted but never mind that. After trying @0isc8mrmgr08 's suggestion I did some testing and the results are thus:
DA:I launches successfully in Steam, EA app, via Frosty, via FrostyFix, or any combination thereof. I even changed the launch options in the mod manager to work through Steam instead of EA. The game launched and a character was loaded successfully with and without mods. No other PC user account was used. All executables were run as admin.
