The EA Windows App keeps crashing during installation

Hi, I purchased the Sims 4 many months ago and stopped playing it. I'm trying to install the EA app on Windows now and despite combing through this forum and trying out different methods, like manually creating an EA folder in C: and running the .exe file as administrator there, it doesn't work. Every time I click the "Let's go" button at the beginning of installation, it loads for 10 seconds before telling me there's an error, so I submit the report to "the droids" and nothing happens. I don't know what to do anymore, it's really frustrating.
