What helped me was performing a "clear cache": https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
From the EA Desktop app
Select the three dashes in the far-left corner of EA Desktop.
Scroll to Help.
Click App recovery.
Select Clear cache.

So far this solution was the only option that actually worked for me. Thanks for figuring this out.

It would be nice not to have to jump through all these extra hoops for a game launcher that should 'just work' like all the others. It's even more annoying that the games I'm trying to play I bought on Steam and would MUCH rather just be able to launch them directly from there....

Nice work EA; another issue for people to be frustrated about.

I figured out that the EA Background Service crashes and when you try to Launch the App you'll get the error. The following worked evertime:

Open Task-Manager -> Details and search for EA Background Services
Right click and kill the process.
Open EA App and it launches correctly.

Had to do this every restart of my computer.

I tried to do the App Recovery, but that didn't work (nothing happening except the App exits) when the EA Background Service crashed. So I did the steps above and then the App Recovery and now it starts consistently. For the moment at least.

THIS WORKED 4 ME:

  I love seeing all the help here. 👍 I know these issues are frustrating and we all want to be heard but the team has been working on this so it is definitely not something that has been pushed to the side. The more data we have like this from steps that work, the easier it is to see what is happening on the backend and with players, and provides a much easier resolution.

Adding my comment here just to point out that this issue is still happening to this day and preventing people from playing their own games. This really needs to be fixed

    @EA_Shepard This literally doesn't work. I cleared cache, restarted the app and even logged in and out from my pc and the EA app. That app is garbage. It's annoying seeing this thread on top when the solution doesn't even work.
