"This game will not run in a virtual environment"

Ever since I "updated" to the EA app, my games won't launch. I'm trying to run Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning on a Surface Pro 7 (and I have to make a post here since EA won't accept feedback on 3rd-party games). I know from Googling that this is a problem other people with Surface devices have been having for at least 3 years. It's due to a virtualization security system Microsoft runs on all Surface devices which cannot be disabled. There are a dozen other posts on these forums about this issue. I know EA knows about it. This is getting ridiculous. Either EA needs to update the app to work around this feature or refund people for the games they've made unplayable.
