Same here!
I tried changing the language by manually editing the app settings file, but after saving the file and running the app, it reverts to 'local.language=en'.
It looks like none of the combo boxes in the app are working.
EDIT: I found a solution!
Go to C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/EA Desktop/EA Desktop/locales and change the name of en_GB.pak file to any other one then find your language.pak and rename it to en_GB.pak.
EDIT2: I was afraid the language „Polski” in combobox of game download will be a fake (because of the renamed files) but after installation the game is in Polish so…
