Which client functionality are you experiencing this bug with? Other (Please Describe)
Please describe When launching the EA App or Battlefield 2042
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) EA App issue started 18.07.23 20:00 EST, BF 2042 issue has been ongoing for roughly a week.
Summarize your bug Essentially, I have to use a VPN to get either the EA App or Battlefield 2042 to connect to any servers.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Not entirely sure you would be able to duplicate it unless you're specifically attempting to do so from Southwest Virginia (VA/TN state line area). I guess try to connect the EA App/BF2042 to whatever server location would be near me.
What happens when the bug occurs? "Unable to connect to server" for EA App with and endless loop of the app restarting and attempting to connect. For Battlefield 2042, I get the Unable to Load Persistence Data error when launching the game until I set my VPN to a different location.
What do you expect to see? Ideally, I would like to NOT have to use a VPN to launch the EA App and Battlefield 2042.
Essentially, I have to use a VPN to get either the EA App or Battlefield 2042 to connect to any servers. I have to set the VPN to any Central US server when I'm East Coast US (Based in Southwest VA, US) and should be (I would assume) connecting to a Washington D.C. area server. This issue started with MASSIVE rubberbanding within in Battlefield 2042, and has slowly progressed to not being able to get that game specifically to connect to EA servers, to now not even being able to connect the EA App to local servers. As soon as I set my VPN to anything BUT one of my regional servers, I'm able to connect flawlessly. I've been able to confirm that no other game clients have issues connecting here, and have verified the internet reliability within my home. I have a 1ms ping to my local datacenter, and <4ms of jitter and 0% packet loss. If I run a traceroute to any game server for Battlefield 2042 in my region, the packet loss occurs on the last hop prior to the physical hosted server. If VPN is set to Central US or West Coast US, there is obviously a higher ping, but significantly less packet loss (well, 0% packet loss). Seems to be an issue with the servers in this region specifically, especially if simply changing my VPN location to another rectifies the issue. Not quite sure what else to do in this situation besides create the bug report and hope that someone reads it. If you've made it this far- Thanks, I guess.
