Same issue, EA App thinks I have the Ultimate edition (this was refunded) later bought the standard edition and installed via Origin. Moved to EA app and stuck in this constant loop of failed download. The game was launching, but I'm not having much luck getting it to launch tonight for some reason. No idea if this game will update. Reported this on another thread hear but have received no assistance.
hey bud I just want to let you know that i found a solution.. I knew that the problem wasnt from my laptop, the bug is on the account so every time EA rep "tried" to help, they always give you methods to troubleshoot YOUR laptop. I been trying to tell them that its the ACCOUNT that has the problem so last night i proved myself right
so I figure, since its My account that has a problem heres what I did
-signup for a NEW Hotmail account & EA play account. (make sure they are linked)
-signup for xbox Game pass for $1 a month
-logout your original account from xbox app & EA app
-Login to your NEW account that u just made for xbox/EA app
-download battlefield 2042 (wait till its done)
-Log out of your new account
-log back in to your original account
and everything works perfectly.. as you can see in my attachment i successfully downloaded BF 2042 No thanks to EA rep
