- @DeafMurloc I've got the work-around "solution" inspired by other user's comment below: Change the install location to Hard disk root location. For example C:\ for internal drive or E:\ (or what ever drive letter assigned) for an external drive. Don't put under a parent folder "\EA Games"
- @MZS365 I have the same problem. I've changed the install location to a hard disk root directory, such as D:, E: etc. EA Desktop will automatically add the sub-folder with the Game's name, like D:\FIFA 21. Click Download and hopefully will start to download.

Still not fixed. Downloading a free to play game works, but it still does not allow to install games like Mass Effect Legendary.
So I own the Xbox game pass, and I can't download games. It gave me access to EA play, and this message popped up. The message is the PNG file then I'm pinning to this question. I un-installed and re-installed it, I thought it could have been a bad connection, used a VPN, I don't know what it could be. Please assist me!
Edit: To answer, I've restarted my computer 3 times, yes.Hey @zhedleston

hello, I can't download any EA games with Xbox subscription, can you help me if you are having reapply problem?
- @softskiller2 Same problem. I have downloaded Dead Space 2, that seems fine. I cannot download Star Wars: Fallen Order. Have tried every fix I can find but it continues to says "Unable to install."
If downloading another game, the error message also has the name of the game I am currently downloading, rather than the one I am trying to, confusingly. What if you cant even start to download Apex legends?
Same issue for me, I get the hiccup error when attempting to download A Way Out. Tried using the Apex Legends download work around...same error message for that as well. Looks like none of the solutions work for me.
Possibly found the solution. Completely close the EA app. Then in windows go to "services" in windows explorer. Scroll down to "EABackgroundService". Right click and select "restart". Then reopen your EA app and try to install the game. Personally I changed the filepath on the download, but I don't think this is required.
