Uninstall EAUpdaterService.xpc

Hello folks,

I am trying to delete all the EA app files from MacOS and this one stubborn service file is not being deleted. It always stays in the  /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileAccessoryUpdater.framework/XPCServices

directory. I tried everything including disabling SIP and removing it from Recovery but it's not letting me that too. It says the file is read and write only. I tried sudo chmod 777 and that didn't work either.

This app constantly pops up when I am working on other apps on my computer. The Dev team is not fixing this either. There are many tickets for this and they constantly ignore this.

  • DO NOT DELETE  EAUpdaterService.xpc !
This is a legit Apple component for your operating system.

Once you delete the EA App from "/Applications", you can run these commands to remove any leftovers:

    Remove these Directories:
    rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Electronic\ Arts/EA\ App
    rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Origin
    rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/com.ea.mac.eaapp
    rm -rf ~/Library/Saved\ Application\ State/com.ea.mac.eaapp.savedState
    sudo rm -rf /Users/Shared/Electronic\ Arts

    Remove this file:
    rm ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.ea.app.backgroundAgent.plist
