Ive done absolutely everything to fix this bug, I tried opening a way out, and my ea friends list is fully grayed out. my friend tried logging onto my account through his pc and it worked fine for him.
I'm in the same boat... have been for at least 2 days. Pressing shift+F1 in my game, or when loading the EA App, I just get a window pane trying to load where my friends should be. I've tried a boatload of solutions to fix the issue, and I've found two (Changing DNS providers did not work).

02. I connect my PC to my phone and use my mobile data plan for my internet
This leads me to believe that my ISP has a routing problem. If this isn't resolved in a few days, I'm going to have to contact them and ask what's up. I documented as much as I could and set it along in an error report for the Devs, but I suspect it's not the app, but rather one of the links in the app might be blocked or misdirected from my isp and the SDK for social just 'hangs dead'.
Just my best guess based on the hours I spent pulling my hair out. :)
