I can report the same issue as of yesterday (04 March 2023). I tried repairing the Crysis 3 installation, completely uninstalling and reinstalling, disabled the in-game overlay from the EA app settings, tried to run the game as administrator (from the bin32 folder) and in all cases the game failed to launch. Even after the the fresh re-installation of the game, it still shows that an update is required. I've run the update several times and yet it remains showing that an update is required. The game worked while in Origin, how did it break when moving over into the EA app? EA team please help. (I'm running on windows 7 professional 64 bit; and the game did work while in Origin so there should be no reason it should not work now).
the add-on "the lost island" is the problem unnistal then install and unchek add-on.
this fix the play/require update problem.
Solution don't buy add-on/dlc. at some point, on digital store (online), don't care about old stuff.
Sad... after 3 min stop responding ingame.
I don't have the lost island dlc and it still doesn't launch for me. I worked no issues with origin a couple weeks ago; but under the forced EA App it crashes every single time I try to launch. Reinstalling has no effect. This is absolutely unacceptable.
I have the same problem. The update never gets applied, it asks to update again and again. If I run Crysis 3 the game hangs.
Same here. Always crash after 2 minutes, no matter start tutorial or not, no matter resolution, graphic options, no matter install lost island... Tried reinstall game and EA app, same result. This didn't happen with origin launcher. Is anybody from EA going to take a look into this?
same problem
Anybody found a fix for this? just bought the game
I managed to run Crysis 3 properly if I run it with my GeForce Experience app.
Here is an actual fix.
Restart your PC and close EA if you have it running
Open Powershell as an administrator and use the following code:
Remove-Item -LiteralPath "Y:\Origin\Crysis 3\dlc" -Force -Recurse
Replace Y:\Origin\Crysis 3\dlc with whatever path you have Crysis 3 installed to, just make sure it points to the DLC folder.
Open EA again and you should be rid of the Lost Island DLC which causes the issue.
If that doesn't work you might have to take ownership of the Crysis 3 folder, give yourself the highest permission and try the above again.
Be aware that if you input the wrong directory it will be deleted without asking you are sure so be very careful with what you enter!
EDIT: The non remastered version is busted on modern AMD cards, all kinds of framerate issues and capped at 64FPS.
Apparently there are workarounds for this but I don't trust Rivatuner at all to not install other junk by itself when you get the software.
Sorry but my native language isn't English so what do you mean by, or how do I open "Powershell"?
