You don't have access...
When trying to start up Battlefield 4 via Steam (after purchasing and installing the game via Steam), I'm greeted with this error message
"You don't have access. This title may have been downloaded to your device by another user who owns the game. Log in to a different account or restart the app to try again." The game does not appear in the EA app library, which shows 10 games owned and Battlefield 4 does not show up, whereas the EA Help website for this account shows 11 games installed, and Battlefield 4 does show up.
I have attempted the following to resolve:
- Cleared the cache both in-app and via Windows File Explorer.
- Unlinking and relinking the associated Steam account.
- Validated the integrity of the game files via Steam.
- Uninstalled and re-installed the EA app.
- Logged in to the EA app using the Steam log in option.
- Logged in to the EA app by launching the game via Steam.
- Manually installed/re-installed punkbuster, ensured punkbuster A and B both have access to System32
- Manually ensuring punkbuster is allowed through Windows Firewall
- Manually checked for updates on punkbuster
- Restarted the PC after trying all of the above.
Does anyone know of a fix to this issue that doesn't involve the above? I have submitted a help request via the EA Help website but I don't have any confirmation of if this help request has been received by EA Help or any way to see it or follow up on help.ea.com.
I just want to play some Battlefield 4 in the run up to Battlefield 6 :/
Thanks in advance
