Opinion on New Forums
It may just be unpopular opinion, but I find these new forums to be painstakingly difficult to read ,(text is tiny, and colors are blinding), follow thread, my hand hurts from scrolling through hun...

My biggest complaints are the lack of customization when it comes to default settings.
When I post in a thread, it always automatically makes me follow it so I start getting all kinds of annoying notifications unless I manually unfollow them. I have not yet found a way to disable this via settings or preferences. Preferences are a joke honestly, why are there only date and time settings in preferences?? When I go to follows and notifications, it says "manage your notification preferences to control the frequency and types of notifications you want." EA, there is no place to do that except for unfollowing everything one at a time. Advanced settings are also a joke, I wouldn't call anything there particularly "advanced."
When I open a thread, it always defaults to showing "most liked" first and I always forget to change it, because whyyyy would that be the default? It simply goes against the nature of how a forum is supposed to be. This isn't instagram, this isn't tiktok, reddit, twitter, etc, these are supposed to be FORUMS. I don't see a point in this setting.
Lack of profile pictures? Come on! What kind of uniformity is EA trying to encourage? We can't even have sims 2 or 3 or even mysims avatars??? Stop trying to get me to play sims 4!!
To be honest, calling this new setup a "forum" is generous at best.
Very well said. The current setup is not a forum in any sense. It's a competition. For popularity, for upvotes, for ranks, for "hero" status. Cynical me sees it as EA's brand influencer farm.
also the biggest joke of all is how there are badges for logging in a certain number of times, and I have not even received the one for logging in ONCE, even though this god-forsaken website makes me log in again every time I close the site, as if I have cookies disabled or something
