Case #255733564: still "Wait studio" - new details from my account data

Update: 12 days of waiting, a template rejection, and now a bot closes my appeals in seconds

(Earlier cases: #255409098 and #255733564.)

I've played this series since FIFA 18. This year I put about US$1,600 into FC 27 in the first two weeks. Today I'm locked out of all of it, and nobody at EA will tell me why.

Here is what happened:

- My account was banned on September 28. I appealed, and the next day EA lifted the ban. Their e-mail said they had done a full investigation and "found your concerns valid and justified." I thought it was settled.

- Two days later the account was banned again. Six minutes after that ban, EA itself refunded my last two orders. I never asked for those refunds and never filed a dispute with my bank. EA's own data export lists them as REFUND transactions.

- I appealed and waited 12 days, checking my inbox every hour. On October 12 the answer came, and it was a template: "your account was actioned correctly." No term, no conduct, no evidence.

- I then put together an 8-page evidence file (screenshots attached below) and submitted it again. And again. Eight times in total. Every single time the system rejected it within seconds. Nobody is reading it.

- Live chat told me, politely, that they cannot see or influence anything the ToS team does. I honestly don't know what to do at this point.

I'll be straight about what I think triggered this. I live in mainland China, my account is registered in Hong Kong, and most of my FC Points orders were placed in the Japan store. Every single order was paid in full with my own card. No chargebacks, no coin trading, no cheating. If buying from that store was the problem, I can't find it in the User Agreement or the Terms of Sale, and EA accepted all 21 orders. One sentence of warning when the first ban was lifted, and I would have stopped.

My data export says the first ban was ACCOUNT_MISUSE and the second is ECONOMIC_ADVANTAGE. That is the only "explanation" I have ever received, and I had to file a data request to get it.

What I want is simple. Either I get my account back, and I'm happy to pay again for the two orders EA refunded. Or, if the ban really is final, the remaining 19 orders (about US$1,450) get refunded too. I just don't know how to ask for either one anymore.

EA_Leeuw  EA_Lanna I have read the EA Account Help guide and followed every step in it, but I am now stuck. I sincerely ask you and the other community managers for your advice and help. I know you can't lift the ban yourselves, but any guidance on where to go from here would mean a lot to me. Three things in particular:

1. Is there a limit on appeals for one ban? How do I reach an actual person once the system rejects everything automatically?

2. What does ECONOMIC_ADVANTAGE mean? Where is it defined?

3. If the ban stays, what is the correct way to request a refund for the remaining 19 orders?

If I broke a rule, tell me which one and I'll accept the consequence. But a permanent ban with no reason given doesn't feel like a fair way to treat someone who has supported this series for years.

Has anyone else been through this and found a way out?

Thank you for sharing this, and I'm sorry you're going through it too. Our cases look almost identical:

    - Long-time players, FC Points bought through EA's own store, no chargebacks.

    - FC Points bought in more than one currency (mine: HKD and JPY; yours: EUR and GBP).

    - A permanent ban in the first weeks of FC 27.

    - Our two most recent FC Points purchases were refunded automatically, at the same time, right after the ban, even though the points were already spent.

One thing that may help you: request your account data from EA through a personal data request. It shows the exact ban reason code. Mine says ECONOMIC_ADVANTAGE, and it also lists the refunds with timestamps. It would be useful to know whether yours says the same.

And thanks for the warning about the new account. For anyone reading: don't create a new account on the same PC, because it seems to get banned too.

This now looks like more than one isolated case: the same pattern, the same automatic refunds, the same timing. Could you please flag it to the relevant team as a possible issue with how multi-currency FC Points purchases are being handled? We are not asking you to lift any bans, only to make sure someone looks at the pattern.

If the same thing has happened to you, please add your details here: your ban date, the currencies you bought FC Points in, and whether your latest purchases were refunded.

  • Exact same thing happened to me. Appeal is waiting for studio. (5 days now) - had to make a new account just to post here.

Played fifa/fc/FUT since 2012, moved to PC last year, thousands spent on FC points. (Love the game)

No cheating, no abuse, nothing. Just a random perma ban last week in FC 27.

Only thing I can think of was travelling in September in different countries and purchased FC points on the web app, some in euros, some in pounds, but no chargebacks requested ever. (Seems to be something we have in common)

I also received 2 refunds of my latest FC points purchases, which I had already used to open packs (looks like it was automated refund, both at same time on 2 days)

Seems to be a full IP / HWID ban too as my RTG was banned an hour after signing on.

Really painful experience. Hope we get this fixed before needing to take it further!
