Charged $ For “EA Help?”

This stared when i tried to purchase a sims 4 expansion pack, it said my payment had failed when i knew everything was right. I go to check my account details and i was charged 3 time for something called “Electronic Arts HelpEA.com”

I don’t know what caused this and how to fix it i made a dispute but i want to understand how this even happened/why

EA does a $1 test charge which is then reversed. Is that what you see? Notice that if you make a dispute through your bank instead of EA help they may permanently close your account.

    Hey there VZSilent

This sounds like a pre-authorization charge- These are temporary transactions we use to verify the payment information. These will be refunded to you automatically within seven business days.

For your failed payment, you can try the following steps:

    • Use a different payment method
    • Make sure your billing details in the EA app match the billing details for your card
    • Remove and re-add your payment method from your account
    • Make sure the location on your account matches your real location

If you still have issues once you've run through these steps, we'll need the live support team to investigate into this a bit further, as we don't have access to review your account details here on the forums. Live support can look into your account and see what's causing this transaction to get stuck, you can contact the team by submitting a help request on the site here

I am having the same issue. I know the card info was right because if it wasn't, this charge wouldn't show as a pending charge on my bank account. I tried two different cards several times and saw a $1 charge each time. It says payment failed but I've paid with both of these cards in the past. I can't purchase games because of this error and it's not an issue with my cards, so I'm not sure what to do.

    Hi,

I'd recommend using the link EA_Solaire shared and speak with EA Help. They will be able to check the transactions. If payments are failing, though, then you'll probably need to ask your bank if they're declining them.

Unfortunately I don't see any option for payment assistance on the help link... It just takes you around in circles. Only help with games themselves specifically. I tried two different cards from two different banks so I don't think it's the bank, especially as I just bought a game last December. :(

The options to select to get a contact option should be EA Account -> "I'm looking for something I bought". Those just gave me the email option. If it doesn't do the same for you, try using the Help site while logged out or in Incognito mode.

However, if payments are being declined or the authorisation charge is being declined, then it's likely that your card providers will need to assist with. It's not uncommon for them to block authorisation charges for fraud concerns, so might be what's happening here.
