ea account link to playstation network?

i've been trying to link my ea account to my playstation account for the past hour, and althought the 'link to playstation network' button shows up under unlinked/not linked.

whenever i try to press on it, it simply tells me the accounts are already linked and only one playstation account can be linked to an ea account.

i've tried to see whether they can be unlinked from eachother and then re-link them, however, that's not possible as the accounts don't show up on my linked sections on either platform.

how can i get these two accounts to properly link to each other? does anyone know? has anyone else experienced this know a solution?
