EA Account Recovery Loop – Device Recovery Fails, No Escalation

I am trying to recover an old EA Account that is still linked to my PlayStation Network account.

I no longer have access to the email address linked to the EA Account. However, I still have full access to:

  • the linked PSN account,
  • my PlayStation 5,
  • my usual home network,
  • my PSN Online ID,
  • my PlayStation purchase history and proof of purchase.

I contacted EA Help and completed the ownership verification process.

The advisor then activated Device Recovery and told me to restart my PS5, launch an EA game with online features and follow the recovery popup that should appear.

I followed the instructions exactly.

The popup never appeared.

Instead, EA SPORTS FC 26 continued to show only the old inaccessible email address and the old authenticator app as verification methods.

I contacted Support again.

A second advisor activated Device Recovery again.

It failed again.

The same process was then attempted yet again during another chat, with the same result.

I repeatedly explained that Device Recovery does not work on my account and asked whether there was another recovery method available.

I also asked whether the case could be escalated to a supervisor or a specialized Account Recovery team.

The advisor explicitly told me that escalation to a supervisor was not available.

Since I have not used this EA Account for years and do not care about any old progress or content, I also offered a much simpler solution: unlink my PSN account from the inaccessible EA Account so I can create a new EA Account.

Support told me they cannot manually unlink it and that the account owner must do it after logging in.

But that creates an impossible situation:

I need to log in to the EA Account to unlink my PlayStation account, while the entire reason I am contacting Support is that I cannot log in to the EA Account.

The recovery process currently looks like this:

No access to old email → contact EA Help → ownership verification → Device Recovery → Device Recovery fails → repeat Device Recovery → no escalation available → Support cannot unlink PSN → user is told to log in to the inaccessible account.

This is a closed recovery loop.

During my latest chat, after Device Recovery failed again, I asked a simple question: is there any recovery method available that does not rely on Device Recovery?

The chat was closed without resolving the issue.

I am not asking EA to restore old game progress, purchases or Ultimate Team content. I simply want either:

  1. A manual account recovery method that does not rely on Device Recovery, or
  2. My PlayStation Network account to be released from the inaccessible EA Account so I can link it to a new one.

Has anyone from EA or the Community Team seen this situation before?

What is a customer supposed to do when Device Recovery repeatedly fails and first-line EA Support has no escalation option?
