FC26 Updates

Hi. Can someone from EA explain to me why the game I paid nearly £100 for needs to update for 30 mins to an hour once a week!?. I have a full time job so can only play once every few days for about  an hour at most. Every time I turn this game on it needs to sit downloading. Have they not finished it ? If so why have they sold it to me? Why is there no mechanism to let us know in advance so we can have it downloading when not looking to play it. There should be compensation or at least an apology for the constant disruption in service.

    My 3 last visits playing with friends locally, we needed to wait 30 minutes to play on PS4. At home, there is always something new. Never get to get a feel for the game, something is always changing. And as you say, always some update; on top of EA updates, the OS, drivers. Games was better back in the day, when you got the game and you were stuck with the game as is.
