Gift card refunding issues for MySims

Hey everyone!

Recently I purchased MySims: Cozy Bundle for PC via a gift card. Unfortunately I ran into some issues, and requested a refund

I contacted the EA help team, who advised me the refund would be processed to the bank account linked with my EA account - but I haven't linked a bank account. I told them it was paid via gift card, so I'm not sure how it would be refunded , and they weren't much help!

I received the refund confirmation email, and it was refunded back to the gift card. However, gift cards aren't reloadable, and only have a set amount on them! So the money never made it to that card, and I'm not sure how to get the money back.

I contacted the gift card company who confirmed the money has not been refunded to the card (because it can't be). As such, I'm at a complete loss as I don't have the money back, and the game has been removed from my EA! 

Has anyone else run into a similar issue?

I've emailed EA and are yet to hear back, but I'm hoping they'll assist to reinstall the game at no cost, or refund the money to my proper bank account

    Hi lanikerr,

    A refund always goes back to the payment method that has been used for the transaction.

    If there are any issues with the refund not appearing on your side, you would need to get back in touch with EA support for further help. It looks like you already reached out to them, so you would need to wait to hear back at this moment.
