Possible help for those locked out
No promises here, but posting in case you're in the same boat as me. My disabled account that required a password reset was my gmail, I made the mistake of clicking the Sign-In with Google button instead of just directly resetting the password. This mistake essentially created a new EA account with my disabled accounts email which in turn has prevented me from doing anything for the disabled account that is linked to my xbox account. Intense frustration
Just came across this excerpt on an EA article that seems a viable solution, basically have to:
- Unlink the Google account or whatever account you clicked the oAuth(auto-signin) button for (https://myaccount.ea.com/am/ui/connected-accounts)
- Then change your email on the new account to a different email (https://myaccount.ea.com/am/ui/account-information)
- Then log out of new EA account
- Then try resetting the password of the disabled account again with the email you just removed from the new account.
- Hopefully profit?
Havent been able to get past step 2 myself though because there's an idiotic 30 day window between when you can change the email address on your account, and apparently me clicking sign in with google triggered that window, so i have to wait 30 days to potentially get this fixed. absolute joke of a user account system.
