unable to log into help.ea.com/tech support verification email no longer exists

Although I was able to change my log in/contact e-mail to my new account, EA help is using my old email account which does not exist any longer for verification purposes.  I am unable to use EA Help/...

I use Firefox, which like Chrome is an open source browser, but is not Chrome.  I did try using Opera (which I hate), but it made no difference.  In desperation I tried to delete my entire EA account and create a new one, but was again thwarted by a demand to send verification to the defunct email address.
