Unrecoverable EA Account

I had pre-ordered FC27 Ultimate Edition, after a break from playing FC or FIFA as it was for a while.

When I logged on to try and play, I noticed that I could not play the game without re-signing in with my EA Account. Problem being, the phone number linked to that account is an old phone number from the country I used to live in which has been deactivated for several years. This means I cannot receive any 2FA codes to verify my account.

The email address used for my EA account was also tied to this phone number, meaning I can't access it either. Unfortunately this email is a yahoo account and after several hours on the phone with them was told this email is now considered unrecoverable and also actually deleted and inactive.

So neither phone or email address tied to my EA account is accessible.

The first time I contacted EA, I was given an option on live chat to recover my account by verifying some info like address, transactions etc. Unfortunately, I failed this as I didnt believe I had transaction history available but I have since been able to get this from my old bank.

However, every subsequent chat (approximately 6 times now) I am not given this recovery method or option. Instead, I'm told to open a game on my console where I will be able to update my contact info. However, this never works and I'm just presented with the same option to verify my identity with email or text message. I explain to the agent each time now this doesn't work, but I get refused any other recovery method.

TLDR, spent €110 on a game I cannot play or access benefits of and EA refuse to help me or escalate or provide further support.

NB I can access the linked PSN account.

  • Hi there, thanks for explaining the situation and everything you've already tried.

Since you no longer have access to either the email address or phone number linked to the EA Account, this will need to be handled through EA Help account recovery. We aren't able to access accounts, change login information, or complete account verification from the forums. You mentioned that during your first contact you were offered the account recovery process but weren't able to pass verification at the time. Since you've now managed to recover additional information, including your previous transaction details, I'd recommend contacting EA Help again and specifically asking for help recovering an EA Account you no longer have access to.

You can find the account recovery information here: https://help.ea.com/en/articles/ea-account/locked-out-of-ea-account/

If the advisor suggests using a recognized device again, let them know that you've already attempted that method several times and it continues to ask for verification through the inaccessible email address or phone number. Having access to the linked PSN account may also be useful information to provide to the advisor, but the account recovery and verification still needs to be completed through EA Help.

Let us know if you're having any problems reaching out to EA Help again.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your detailed response.

Unfortunately regarding your statement "If the advisor suggests using a recognized device again, let them know that you've already attempted that method several times and it continues to ask for verification through the inaccessible email address or phone number." I have actually tried this at least 5 times, and the support agent refuses any other recovery method.

Even when starting a new chat and clearly stating the so called "home recovery" option is not available, they still perform it and it doesn't work. When I reiterate that it doesn't work, they say this is the only option available to them.

In one scenario, the agent actually disconnected after I asked them a second time if we can try a different recovery method than via my console.

This is exactly where I'm stuck now.
