Can’t invite anyone on Xbox

So I downloaded Split Fiction on Xbox and my buddy has the game pass, also on Xbox. We were able to play for an hour or two before the game crashed. We tried loading it up again by now I can’t invite anyone on Xbox. It just tells me “something went wrong” and just closes me out of the invite screen. I can still invite through EA friends but my friend doesn’t have access to that on Friends pass. Anyone know how to resolve this issue?
