Does progress save if I switch EA play from Origin to Steam?

My EA Play subscription with Origin recently expired, and I thought that I would get it on Steam so I can play F1 2021.

I am worried saves and progress for games won't transfer to Steam if I do this. Specifically, I want to sync my saves of NFS Heat, Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Titanfall 2. Does anyone know if I can access my saves from EA Play on Steam, or how to sync progress? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I don't know the specifics of the games you're playing, but you should be able to google the save location for any game in question.  If it's saved in Documents, a Steam install should use that same folder and read your saves without your doing anything else.  If a save is located within the game's program files, you'll want to copy over the save once you've installed the game through Steam.  Either way, make a backup copy before doing anything else.

Achievements may not transfer at all, but it's possible some newer games do support this as well if you're using linked Origin and Steam accounts.

  • I am pretty sure there isn't any cross saving at this time.  I think I read they want to implement it in some way but at this time you can't pick up where you left off on other platforms as far as I am aware.

Thanks for this @puzzlezaddict . You were absolutely right. NFS Heat saved in documents, so all I had to do is download on steam, open and say I wanted to use the existing save. Hope it's this smooth for other games.
