EA Play account via Steam, moving to Xbox PC Game Pass

I currently subscribed to EA Play via my STEAM account. I have received a email to say that as of 10/11/20 EA Play will be available alongside my Xbox PC Game Pass at no extra cost. Q: If I cancel my EA Play Subs on the STEAM account, will I still have access to games I have DL (under the subscription) and Game Progress? Q: Will I have to DL the game again under the Game Pass account?

Hey @AmySummers69 our membership is available on each platform for $4.99, or regional equivalent. There is no cross platform subscription at this time. As such if you wish to use EA Play on different platforms then you will need an active membership on each.

  • Thank you for your response....

On my Gams Pass account the price of the EA access is 'no extra cost', but with Steam its £19.99 per year.....so if I swap to my Game Pass account I save myself £19.99 which in turn means I can purchase more Games or DLC from yourselves.

Taking the above into consideration, if I cancel the Subs with Steam 1) Can I log in via my EA account details through my Game Pass account? 2) For example: I have purchased 'STAR WARS - Battlefront 1 & 2 via Steam which show up in my 'Origin' platform. Game I get to play under my EA Subscription ie. Need for Speed - Heat also show in 'Origin'.

Now, if I cancel my Subs via STEAM, will I lose access to NFS-HEAT (and the game saved). Will I then need to re-download it via my Game Pass account? Also, it saves to the cloud, does this mean that if i do have to re-DL the game, then once I log in, I should be able to play where I left off?

The new EA Play Launcher, does not show any games I have DL, but they all show in Origin, why is this and will it be fixed anytime soon? Will I have to delete Origin at some point? What If I lose my Cloud Saves?

I would greatly appreciate if you could answer each question..

  • EA are money grabbing filth with absoluelty no customer care or logical thoughts about customers as people, we are just a plus sign to thier bank balance. Do yourslef a favour, cancel any paid subscriptions to them, use the free stuff on gamepass and never give another penny to EA. They will learn the hard way.
