EA Play Refund as I would like to pay only once allowed to create an account...

Good day

I purchased an EA Play subscription for my younger brother to join me in playing a few games as well as titles he really enjoys and likes, however there is no end to the "We're sorry, but we're having some technical difficulties. Please try again later." errors when trying to create an account for him.

I have already paid for the EA Play subscription, however it can not be used as no account creation is allowed. I mention 'allowed' as this is not relating to "Technical difficulties", but to a misleading error response from the web service when trying to execute the database call for entry.

The following has been attempted:

1) Tried creating from 4 different PCs, each on a different connection.

2) Via different browsers on different mobile devices varying from 2 Laptops, to 3 different Smart Phones.

3) Via the installed Origin app, where I am able to log in to my main account 100% fine.

4) Via different browser.

No Antivirus is installed, no firewall is enabled and 4k streaming from Netflix operates almost instantaneously, so these points of failure have already been removed.

Having a look at the amount of tickets for this issue and people reporting this on other sites, this brings me to the conclusion that this is an issue on the Origin side which is plainly ignored or Origin do not have the competent employees to resolve it.

Herewith I would like to request a refund on the product that I have purchased as it is now a product that cannot be used at all.

    Hey @Scavenger0310 I tested there and was able to create an Origin account without any issues. Did you try creating the Origin Account on origin.com and then link it?

    For issues such as this you will need to speak with one of our phone or chat support advisers who will be able to advise you further. 

     

    You can contact our live support at help.ea.com.  

    To  speak with a chat adviser:

    Click on your product Origin

    Then select 'PC

    Manage my Account'

    Can't log in

    Finally, you can choose to begin a chat or request a call back.

    Hi @Scavenger0310 

    I'm not sure I fully understand. You need an EA account to be able to purchase an EA Play subscription, so if you've already purchased EA Play then you already have an account and EA Play will be tied to that account.

    @CarbonCarl , I thank you for your reply as well as the information and links supplied.

    It is in fact possible without an EA account if the subsceiption is activated via Steam.

    The transaction completes via Steam and only then are you able to select a game for download.

    Once downloaded, you are prompted to log in or create an Origin account, which the latter does not work, even when trying multiple email addresses from different domains.

    I will follow the links you have provided with regards to a refund, however having a solution for this from a multi-million dollar institution would have been, well, standard, however that does not seem to be the case.
