improved tyres choice for the race

Just to add that as a consequence of this improved choice, the driver could choose for example to run a set of used (S) in the Sprint Race to keep a brand new (S) set for the main race, whereas today if you select a (S) set for the Sprint, you cannot choose which one, it will always be the new one (which can no longer be used in the main race, as in the example). 

It happened in reality in Brazil, where Verstappen and others chose to race the Sprint with an used set.

Regarding this issue, I'd like to offer my suggestion for the next patch to ensure that F1 23 bound to realism. 

Currently during practice session,  F1 23 only allocated 6 set of tyres and the rest of allocation is locked. Thus can't be chosen. 

Looking at several GP this year such as Mexico and recently Las Vegas, several drivers utilized the already used tyre especially Hard compound. Therefore,they can use for example Medium-Hard-Hard tyre whereas either set or both of the tyres are used set (used during FP). 

Using your current allocation, it's impossible for players to use the already used tyre especially the Hard compound since the game allocated 2 sets of hard tyres in such that 1 set either for FP or Qualification  and 1 set reserved for race. 

It'd be useless for players to use Hard compound for Qualification session, but if the hard compound is less worn during the FP session, it'll be automatically returned. 

I suggest that you (EA) Implement the flexibility of tyre allocation as done by F1 manager series. What frontier do with the tyre allocation is they only lock three set of tyres: 1 set of soft for Q3, 1 set of medium and 1 set of hard for Race, the rest can be used by driver during practice. Thus, with this, player can use for example the less worn hard compound for race, since pirelli only took 2 sets of most worn tyre during the 3 FP sessions.

Hopefully you can implement it for the next patch. It'll very much raise the realism, since there are players who bound for realism settings.

This section of the rules seems to correlate with the 'F1 23 Game' asking us to make a decision at the Weekend Allocation of Tyres Before P1 of Softer/Balanced/Harder, though it doesn't correspond with FIA saying the tyre set nominated can be used in P1 where as the game hides the nominated set into qualifying and can't be used in P1 for 40 minutes...

Maybe FIA are asking us which set to return??? I am unsure.  But, nowhere in the regulations that I can see that restricts the use of Hard tyres in Practice sessions and the Race.  There is no restrictions that I can see on which tyres you are allowed to sign out for practice. 6 sets have to be returned, but it doesn't say you can only have 6 sets for practice. You should be able to take 7 sets to Practice 1,2,3 and return 6. Thus taking a used set of Hards to the race.

Are teams allowed to take 7 sets of tyres to a Grand Prix Race, or do they have to choose 4 from the 7?

Art. 30 supply of tyres, quite complex and different between normal and Sprint weekend, 30.5 i (normal) and h (sprint) are the Return Tyres rules.

Summarizing in normal weekend two sets must be returned after each Practice session, the game is ok about this but it’s missing the option to choose which set to return. Would be so nice to have it implemented in F1 24.

Sprint weekend is slightly different and is not currently implemented in the game so far: 1 set must be returned after P1, 1 set with the higher number of laps after P2, 1 set after the Sprint.

I hope CM will give it to us next year 🤗

Thanks for the link, I have recently been reading and quoting from an old one 2021 with 87 pages, Martin Brundle quoted the regulations have 107 pages like the one you showed me 2023. I am guessing the extra 20 cover sprint weekends? When did sprints start? And Bing says they came in 2021. 2021 section 24. use of tyres., is now where you quoted it to be in the 30.

I think the only thing EA have incorporate properly is 12 tyres versus 13? Over the last couple of weeks I have been undoing everything EA taught me about tyres, throw out the bathwater, there is no baby. I now don't beleive only taking 4 tyres to a weekend is a thing. So, it seems to me Grand Prix w/e have to return 6 and Sprint w/e have to return 4 or ...5???, I think its 4 sets from practice and 1 from sprint??? but everytime I count on my fingers while looking at regs I can only find 4 to return. So I think both final races teams might have access to 7 sets...??? or 8???

So, I think your original picture idea should have access to 7 sets not 6, and I don't think you have to limit yourself to 3 empty boxes, I think it should be 7 empty boxes or scrap that idea maybe? Maybe tweak the in race pit edit function. But I still think both my pictures might almost be the answer but I will tidy and redo them and maybe add another picture, and explain a little more. I'll try to edit this post later for the pictures. I hope you can comment once the pictures are up so we can spread enough XP+ to maybe get a Codies attention.

the latest 3 pictures don't solve the used Soft selection in the initial Race Strategy that you were after, but I am sure that would be another simple tweak, I will wait to see what you think of my 3 pictures first before I talk about that.

I am sure my submission will go unread because I am rude and my name is mud, but at least I will be asking for what I want without incorporating properly this threads idea. Nuvolarix you are going about it the wrong way, I think my tweak is the way to go and incorporates all your needs, but you won't tell me if you are happy with what I suggested. I think I totally understand esala12's idea and I think my pictures will acurately match esala12's thoughts after I do the race tyre setup tweak.  I feel I have used some of the Codie architecture so the Use Of Tyres section 30 doesn't need a total rebuild in EA to match Frontier's.
