The handling was pretty good in F1 23, there was no need to overhaul, just fine tuning and you could get the chance to improve UI etc.
I still hope you will manage to fix it but I can’t deny to be disappointed, and if the situation does not improve greatly, this was certainly my last pre-order.

I for one feel this is all getting a bit out of hand. Its very different sure, but more realistic. Everyone says arcade but i think its more sim. When Mercedes brought out the 2021 car for iracing which had been worked on by theier own engineers the front end direction change was incredible. Real f1 cars have front end direction change which is insane. Stand outside of copse corner looking down the straight as the cars come towards you and you will really see.
If this is is the same as the beta the front end was wierd at first but once you experiment with the wheel settings it stopped being an issue for me. Alex is showing it at its worst. Ive seen a couple of videos now whee by the end the player is starting to learn and understand the handling and getting more out of it. Formula owen is an example. This mirrors my experience of the beta. Once you start to dial in the driving is really good i thought. Just wanted to add a balance to all the negativity - from what ive experienced in the beta and seen over last couple of days.
I do think Alex Gillon was showing it at the extreme, what baffles me though is that this is on the default settings which to a fan of the sport would appear very janky and would feel weird so I probably see his point a bit more, I'm not the quickest, but this isn't good. There are more issues than the way the car moves on turning though, the fact most kerbs are non-existent in terms of upsetting the car is worrying because now players will inevitably abuse that to be so much faster in TT.
Also to the devs, I know it's a yearly release and there's so much pressure to get it done, but it seems like the introduction of the dynamic kinematics system probably wasn't how it was meant to be received when put into practice is looking very much universally panned by all content creators. To the handling team, you can sit there with blindfolds and earplugs in all you want and say "deal with it", but the amount of universal panning I've read by the content creators who beta tested the game, that will reach the audience you want and should definitely have you concerned about overall opinion, but it doesn't seem that way and the publisher is like "let's promote it like nothing's wrong" instead. This needs to change, whether through tweaks to the system in patches or something for future titles, but you can't blindly go one direction and completely alienate the hardcore base too much.
I'm trying to be polite about it since you seem to dislike the rudeness which I do get and don't condone that behaviour in any way, however for me not to say anything wrong about the game won't be very productive especially after watching Alex's video.
I am fascinated by the physics of the car and want it to go the way you want it to, but a snappy front end and then the wash of understeer reported makes me wonder why the end wants to grip and just lose all front end going through the corner making the player lift off to grip it again, by then too late the AI without many issues will close up to the player and pass them then take off down the road, if this is how it's gonna be, I'm not sure how I'm gonna like it come 28th May. I also don't understand why you can't make the AI a little more dynamic with wet weather driving, I'm hoping that I can compete with them at least in the wet, I dunno, maybe I'm asking for too much. What I don't want is to dread a wet session because then the AI are climbing on top of me with their seamless driving as if they have zero traction problems. One thing I'm also concerned about is the useless Wet compound tyre vs the Inter according to Alex in his play test. Have the team basically given up on the Wet tyre because it's so rarely used irl due to how the FIA reacts to heavy rain nowadays? That surely had to have been flagged somewhere in the dev team, that couldn't have slipped through the cracks, sorry. How has the Inter become as fast in heavy rain as the Wet? There's no point pitting for Wets if the Inter is fine in those conditions.
In terms of the very pointy steering i havnt seen anyone discuss changing the steering rate? In 23 its set to 100% and ive never touched it but i wonder if reducing it would help in 24?
@Darthsausage44 I genuinely think that shouldn't be a thing, and the fact that it's up to consideration just detract points out of F1's handling execution.
Now I understand it being a relevant factor for pad players since a controller is an inherently limited input device. But for wheels?
Every sim aims at a "set it and forget it" setting. You set it so that your real wheel matches 1:1 with the in-game wheel, and that's it. The game should know how to deal with your steering inputs.
There are different steering racks that teams use in real life in certain edge cases like Monaco, but that's not what's going on in this franchise.
If I'm not mistaken Alex mentions fiddling with that to alleviate certain issues but it got to the point where the disconnect was just too much? The mismatch between the game wheel and his wheel.
This is not realism or good handling. This is blotchy patchwork.
guys, let's not kid ourselves, if we have been playing F1 for years we immediately notice that the car turns jerkily in the middle of the curve as if it had a pad because the rear is blocked.... every year they try to do something that makes one or the other happy other.....then what is f1 if you can use all the curbs when in reality only some of them? l ia? embarrassing perfect fixed temperatures......the tire temperatures that you can't warm them up in qualifying? and it's not question of setup....not to mention the trails the shortcomings that we have as a menu explanations aesthetics the flat tracks except for the updated ones.....the cuts the saving of the replays is not possible a camera setting for the personalized live broadcasts how many we want to add ?The point where we gamers want to end up just complaining or taking action?
How long do you all recon will it take for all the content creators to get fed up with F1 24 if they don't do anything to the handling?
@Rapheal629 heh, only if they manage to pivot their channels to a different game or content.
Many of those Youtubers have their livelihood or their social media revenue from F1 games. When the social media wind vane points to a different direction or their income is jeopardized, I expect them to shift focus elsewhere.

Real F1 drivers do not patch unnatural handling with style, setup or whatever, these car movements simply do not exist IRL
Nevertheless I will give it a chance, play it maybe a month, crossing fingers for good patching, then I will decide whether to start my championship with F1 23 🤷♂️
@NuvolarixAll i see here is he deliberatly massively oversteers the car. The fronts get overwhelmed and loose grip then grip up again as the speed bleeds off. As he initially steers he throws so much lock on the car its actually on a trajectory to totally cut the corner
compare the entry speed and steering input with MV,s actual pole lap onboard. Whats not realistic is how the car is driven. But then the esports drivers dont drive realistically do they. And creators copy them. Now on 24 you have to drive with some realistic inputs and reactions and they dont like it.
Id rather drive a game that MV and LN say is more realistic than what you tubers want
if when i get the launch game and it makes no sense i will come out and say it. All i have to go on is the beta and i loved it.

It is clear that Thomas Ronhaar is deliberately giving in to the extreme here. The problem with that is that it's the way to go fast and it's simply out of touch with reality.
for clarity - i drove the beta and it was not like that. I just feel that clip is a manipulation to make it look bad.
those who make a living from the f1 games have a vested intrest in it being easy to drive. Some of them will be out of jobs if its difficult.
@Darthsausage44 That's exactly what surprises me. I also drove the beta version and had exactly the same problems with the front axle that are mentioned in all the previews.
A quick look at the beta forum, to which you should then have access, should give you an idea that you are "one of millions" who likes the driving behavior as it was in the beta.
@Darthsausage44I can drive a car in GTA realistically, but that does not mean the physics is realistic. I drove the beta too, and the car behave like that exactly. By the way it is easier to drive compared to F1 23.
@SteffenHartwigI did at first but changed some wheel settings and explored the setups and problem went away
this is why i have suggested we have a manual or something to explain the changes, what they mean and guidence on game and car setup. Some seem to have dialled the issues down by learning understanding and experimenting some seem to struggle. If you want it to be the same as 23 play that I guess.
The irony is the creators in previous years complain nothing changes. Now it has and everyone wants it the same.
