Battery Management in Time Trial

EA_Groguet I know your going to be busy chasing down bugs for a while but when the dev team gets a chance here's a suggestion.

Given how critical managing the battery is in these regulations, give us a toggle in time trial mode (like the one for equal performance) so that the battery isn't always locked at 100%. This way we can practice different deployment strategies and see what works best.

Currently the best way to do this is to start a race in grand prix mode but there's a lot of other variables in play in that situation (tyres / fuel / other cars) which makes it a bit more difficult to judge performance.

  • One of the suggestions I put forward some time ago was a new “testing mode”, where players could freely choose all parameters, including tyre wear.
At the moment, when I'm working on a setup in GP Mode, I usually do a dozen in-and-out laps from the pits and then save the game, so I can test setup changes with the tyres already starting at around 30% wear. Clearly just a workaround…

Well yes, having a full-fledged test bench mode where we could set any parameters we wanted would be ideal. But my guess is something like that is more than they're going to be able/ willing to give us in a post launch update. I was going for something I thought might be a bit more manageable so there would be a better chance of it being added in the near future.

I understand this is "Time Trial", but I'd rather see a Test and Tune. Ability to swap tires to test and all other options available when racing in other game modes. Doing a Time Trail is useless, IMO, because nothing really transfers over into race situation correctly.
I use it to learn the tracks. Maybe try setups, but then get into GP mode to tweak everything in practice, quali, and race situations.

That would be useful! And then there's the choice: dry track, wet track!

Pre-season testing would be even more useful in my career!!! Because then I could test everything: the battery and tires.
