I have theory that the esports drivers or maybe even someone who knows something about the way a real F1 car feels gave them input to make the handling more realistic. I still hold the average player would put a real F1 car into a wall pretty quickly if they really drove it. So we mortals need help.
And this is the problem facing EA. Give a game 90% love and the elite 10% despise or give the elite the game they want and praise and 90% of the consumers eventually walk away from.
I am pretty sure you can’t do both without adding a lot of features that allow you to tune the game to your tastes. That requires resources and time. Resources that mean not doing Braking point and time a yearly series doesn’t offer.
Esports drivers dont know how a F1 Car on the Limit feels. Driving lower classes doesnt justify how much of a Feedback you can give to Help developing a Game. The only solution is to work with Real drivers and Engineers together to develop.

And the more real they make it the worse it’ll be for the average gamer.

Not necessarily. They can make the Handling good and still hold it simple. If you drive on iRacing its a full sim game you cant even change the Camera and setup work would be more complex. I from my side dont care about much i just want a consistent Handling model close to how a car can behave when you overdoit or stay on a Normal line. Not these Random Traction and grip loss moment where you cant do anything against it. I dont understand why they always change anything on the Handling. I didnt touch the F1 game since then.
