My thoughts on EA FC 24
I have to be honest. This game is completely in the mud. There is nothing realistic with this game as EA try to convince people. You have made pretty much everything worse since fifa 23 except card designs and promos.
1) Rebounds are so unrealistic it is stuipid. I can make a driven pass and it bounces right from opponents midfielder to his attacker. Not once have i witnessed absurd things like 4 rebounds in a row going straight to my opponents feet and resulting in a goal at the end. Also unrealistic bounces when i tackle the ball from my opponents and they just fly over to a open player. Goalkeepers often tend to give rebounds on weak shots. The list can be long of different scenarios where unrealistic rebounds occur..
2) Match quality is horrific. I have not yet experienced a stable weekend league since the game launched where you play all games with good quality. I understand not every match will be perfect but it happens WAY to often that you get a laggy match where your players dont make any runs, passes are inaccurate, the ball bounces 100 times to the enemy, tackles dont register correctly, players moving slow in every way and opponent tends do get more bounces and worst of all opponent get better animations their way.
Everything is so delayed it is unplayable. It really feels like your players get a -10 in rating when you enter a bad match even if its says in the prematch lobby that your ping is good. It also happens often that during mid game a good quality match switches from nowhere to a laggy match where all points mentioned above starts to occur. It happens to all my friends playing the game both on pc and console so its not problem with my hardware, every one of us have simiular experience. There is still so many bugs with keepers laying on the ball but cant grab hold of it, wrongly given penalties when a tackle is okay and a few times i have experienced falsely given offsides. I paused and looked at the replay and clearly it was no offside. How come a player like Sawa can make Gullit fly by a simple shoulder to shoulder tackle? How can a player like mbappe get catched by gold van dijk with 79 pace? These things are ridiculous, not to mention animations in this game. You stand right in front of a player and he shots under your feet because your defender decided to lift his foot. You intercept a player with your defender but he/she just get a crazy animation and bugs through. It becomes boring and frustrating playing the same glitching game day in and day out.
3) The meta EA gives us is unrealistic and it becomes ironic EA want to franchise this as a "realistic" game. Like EA's answer trying to justify the ridiculous bounces by saying it is "realistic". Nothing is realistic with this games. The meta EA forces us to play is a prime example. All games look the same, whipped crosses into the box and a player like drogba winning a header because he has 99 jumping + aerial+. Not to mention cutbacks where people just systematically runs to the edge of the field, cuts in and gets a driven pass that passes 3 defenders to a open striker. When you try to pass your way through there is ai defending which makes it VERY VERY hard to score a goal by high level passing and it becomes even harder when the match quality is horrific. Ai defending in this game is so broken it is not even funny. The game becomes very limited and the only way to win is playing ratty tactics and abusing different glitches, animations or playstyles that EA have not patched or adjusted.
Also making it possible to score on every corner if you know a special trick but make it pretty much impossible to defend corners if your opponent knows what he is doing is crazy. Free kicks with dead ball+ is pretty much impossible to defend even if you put your defenders in the goal to try and block. You are forced to play a certain formation and a certain way to compete in both weekend league and the higher divisions. No variation what so ever, everyone uses the same group of player, the same tactics, the same style of play and it all comes down to who is better and faster at abusing certain glitches and who has a better macth quality.Talk about "Realistic game"
There is so much more to say and EA should feel ashamed. Everything works fine when it comes to opening packs and putting in FC points but when it comes to quality of the game actual gameplay it is catastrophic. Career mode also ruined by deleting stuff that made it realistic like pre game cut scenes where you got to see the team walkout and listen to UCL anthem for example. It's enough to watch the reviews of EA FC 24 to understand what a useless of a game this is. In my opinion Fifa 23 was a masterpiece compared to this game.
