Controller keeps disconnecting during online matches PC
Hi everyone,
I game on my laptop and use the Xbox Series X wireless controller. I use it on many other modern games with no issue, I can game for hours. I use this same gamepad for EA Sports FC. When I play single player everything works smooth. However when I go into Seasons mode online the controller curiously disconnects during matches. At first I thought I needed to change the batteries. I gave them fresh batteries and its the same issue. Then I thought maybe its my connection but I have fibre broadband and it works fine when I play Battlefield 5.
I do accept it might have something to do with connection but its very weird because the issue may not be on my end. It appears that whenever the game lags at all, even just for a moment, that knocks my controllers connection out of sync. I can still get the pause button to work so that shows its still connected. But the analogue stick will refuse to work at all. If I press the pass button(A) the meter will build on the screen, but the player will not react at all. The player won't move or do anything in response to my actions other than build meter if I press pass or shoot, and it can pause. In the pause menu the analogue stick will work fine but somehow when I go back to the game the players do not response. This has happened to me in virtually every single game I have played since I bought the game. Lately I learned a trick that when it stops responding if I button mash the right analogue stick usually after 15-20 seconds it starts working again, but that costs me valuable time where the opposition can run through my team and score. And sometimes it will take an entire minutes of mashing the right analogue and the back buttons to get the player to start responding. I played a game and saw my opponent face the same thing. He would be playing normally then for minutes at a time his players would not move and allow me to steal the ball from him and score.
Anyone had this issue before, any solutions? It makes it very hard to enjoy this game because I can hardly play online matches.
