EAFC Coop Not Working

EAFC coop not working. My friend and I both have cross play enabled. Had no issues playing coop in fifa before. When we go to invite each other a message comes up stating “ultimate team is better with friends! Add friends with football ultimate team clubs to be able to play with them.” This statement doesn’t make any sense as we are already EA friends
