epic games wont connect to ea app

The fact that this is STILL an issue 9 months later shows how much of a joke EA is. This is EMBARASSING that there still isn't a fix for this.

@WoYuSta Thanks to you, that's exactly the solution. Just reset your password, log in again (entering the new password directly after resetting doesn't work), then enter the new password. It's incredible that it's the users who help each other and find the solution to such a basic problem, which has been going on for several years.

EA is really incompetent, you should run away from their services and associated games, honestly.

What worked for me was this: when a popup wanted me to login (I was already logged in, so again I logged off; I tried everything the internet suggested, reinstalling both apps, no linking option available, etc.), I typed my login, and then I clicked "I forgot my password." After creating a new password, everything went straight forward. It's a bug, not a user problem. Now, in my EA account settings, I have EPIC GAMES linked; Epic was not present there before.

So, does anyone know how to solve this problem?

From the site here under Game Support, you'll select EA app as your product, then I want to update my EA Account information. You'll see the available contact options there. 

where can I start a chat, the ea side is ungodly levels of awful so I cant find it

I have looked into it and I have never connected my epic account to my ea account before, since I have only used this ea account, even before I got my epic games account.

This error typically means your Epic account is already linked up with another EA account. Please try to log in with any other email you might have used, and check your Epic account settings to see if it's already connected.

You can also look over the Connections page in your EA Account settings to see if you’ve linked your accounts before.
